Les Apprimeurs organised their first aperitif conference on 22 May in Saint-Nazaire, on the theme of “Play books in schools”, to mark the end of the European Edugraal <\/a> project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme.<\/p>\n\n

This event was an opportunity to look back at the starting point and initial objectives of the project, and to present the various resources created and lessons learned over the 30 months of its implementation.<\/p>\n\n

The event brought together secondary school teachers, librarians and parents (and children!), and was followed by a convivial time in the garden of our offices in Saint-Nazaire.<\/p>\n\n

Edugraal: when homework becomes a game!<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The European Edugraal project takes an innovative approach to homework, stimulating learning through play and storytelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project partners have created 19 homework challenges in maths, science, history-geography and literature, offering a chance to revise school syllabuses through stories “in which you are the hero”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students are given a series of stories in which they have to make choices and find answers in order to move forward in the story.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

An e-learning module for teachers has also been developed, to help them create their own classroom homework challenges. It is accompanied by a toolbox containing free-access resources, software and practical advice on how to create the homework adventures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants in our event were able to hear from Camille Le Bou\u00ebxic, a teacher in the ULIS class at Albert-Vin\u00e7on secondary school in Saint-Nazaire, with whom the Apprimeurs ran an Edugraal workshop in the classroom<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pupils had shown great enthusiasm in organising themselves as a group to navigate the story of Camping in the mountains<\/em>, a homework adventure readapted in consultation with the teacher to suit the specific needs of her pupils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Camille confirmed the positive impact of learning through play and fiction on her pupils, who enjoyed reading aloud and looking for answers together.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

A project that appeals to teachers<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Feedback from the presentation and Camille Le Bou\u00ebxic’s testimonial was positive: the teachers present showed their interest in the teaching resources created and in the possibility of creating their own homework adventures.<\/p>\n\n

Given that the positive impact of gamification and storytelling on learning is clearly widely shared, Edugraal still has a bright future ahead of it!<\/p>\n\n
