The project
REACT stands for “Resources for European Accessible Cultural Tours”.
This project aims to improve the experience of cultural visits for all visitors, in particular those with special needs and/or adults, families and children who are distant from culture for various reasons (allophone public, disadvantaged environment, etc.).
The aim of this project is therefore to equip and train professionals in order to broaden the range of digital cultural mediation services by promoting the inclusion of cultural institutions, both on site and online, in order to meet the changes and challenges facing the museum sector.
Context
There is a lack of resources and training on digital accessibility issues in the museum and cultural sector.
As small and medium-sized museums do not have access to public services like the large museums, it is very difficult and costly to obtain such access, which is necessary and essential if everyone is to benefit from the cultural resources of all museums.
Goals
REACT aims to achieve the following objectives:
- Equip cultural professionals with a reference tool that provides visibility and centralises all the information, initiatives, best practices, tools and resources available to build an eco-responsible and accessible digital cultural offering.
- Training professionals in the museum sector in accessibility and digital restraint.
- Expand the digital cultural mediation offer by promoting the inclusion of cultural institutions, both on site and online.
Target groups
The REACT project is aimed primarily at professionals in the museum sector, as well as the various stakeholders in the museum field: museums, museum service providers and cultural associations linked to museums.
REACT is also aimed at :
- training organisations offering courses for current and future culture and tourism professionals.
- stakeholders in the disability field: associations of people with disabilities or disorders.
- visitors, whether adults, children or families, with special needs.
